Prou Sythan is the Chief Executive Officer of Forte Life Assurance
Sythan Prou is the CEO of Forte Life Assurance, Cambodia’s leading life insurer, and a recognized leader in Asia’s insurance sector. His career reflects bold shifts—from government to private sector, from lawyer to distribution leader, and now CEO—driven by resilience, adaptability, a willingness to learn and a vision to expand financial protection in Cambodia and Asia.
Since 2012, he has helped pioneer the country’s life insurance industry, launching Cambodia’s first international life insurer, building major bancassurance partnerships, and creating new distribution models. Appointed CEO in 2023, he is leading Forte Life’s transformation into a sustainable, customer solution-focused insurer, accelerating growth and advancing financial inclusion through innovative products and partnerships.
He holds two master’s degrees—in international business and financial law—from King’s College London and Yokohama National University, and has completed executive education at Ivey Business School and Melbourne Business School. His leadership has been recognized with honors including Asia Insurance Review’s Young Leader of the Year, Asian Legal Business (ALB) 40 Under 40, and the Medal of National Merit conferred by His Majesty the King of Cambodia.
Bunhour Hong is Chief Finance Officer and Corporate Secretary of Forte Life Assurance.
With over 16 years’ experience in the insurance industry, Bunhour currently oversees Finance & Accounting, HR & Admin, IT & Management Information Systems and Actuary & Investment areas of the business. His career with Forte started in 2006, where he rose up the ranks from Admin Assistant to being promoted in various management positions in Finance & Accounting, before joining the core team in setting up Forte Micro Insurance, as Head of Finance, HR & Admin. Bunhour played a key role in setting up Forte Life Assurance when it was upgraded from the Micro Insurance business in 2019.
Bunhour holds an Master degree in business administration from Norton University, and Bachelor degree in Accounting from National University of Management (NUM), as well as diplomas in Cambodian Business Law and Cambodian Tax from CamEd Business School. He is currently pursuing ACCA Qualification.
Ly Samnang is the Head of Operations at Forte Life Assurance.
Samnang is a pioneering senior leader who joined Prudential (Cambodia) in 2012 and AIA (Cambodia) in 2016. Under his leadership, he built up a strong operational efficiency from scratch to stability. He also has a strong commitment to deliver a great customer experience for Cambodians.
Prior to joining life insurance, he began his career as a medical doctor for two years, followed by three years as an assistant manager at Walgreens Pharmacy (USA). In 2012, he joined Prudential (Cambodia) as a manager for almost five years (two years in Vietnam Ho Chi Minh & Hanoi and three years in Cambodia), focusing on life operations and product development. Afterwards, in 2016, he moved to AIA (Cambodia) and spent seven years as the Head of New Business, Underwriting and Claims. He also spent several months working at AIA Malaysia before returning to Cambodia. Under his keen leadership at AIA, operations have been improved significantly and provided great customer-centricity.
During his journey, he has gained many experiences with various companies and countries, such as USA, Vietnam, Malaysia and Cambodia. In addition, he holds a medical doctor degree and a business degree. Moreover, he was certified as a Chief of Underwriting and Chief of Claims in 2017 from Singapore and Hong Kong.
Lim Lyhour is the Chief Business Officer of Forte Life Assurance
Lyhour has a solid experience in distribution for 21 years: nearly 10 years in life insurance sector and more than 10 years in FMCG, tobacco, and reading books. Prior to joining Forte Life Assurance, he was the Head of Strategic Planning & Business Performance in partnership distribution of AIA Cambodia. Lyhour had provided a strategic support for all channels, particularly Cambodia Public Bank and Prince Bank, and he had also driven and led the Cambodia Post business – streamlining the engagement of both internal and external stakeholders. Prior to that, Lyhour was the Senior Director of Bancassurance Sales at Manulife Cambodia. He led partnership with Sathapana Bank from scratch, and the bank became the top bancassurance in 2020 & 2021. He had built a strong relationship with the bank partner and key employees, and he had built his team from 1 to more than 200 within 5 years of operations. Before moving to Bancassurance department, Lyhour worked in Agency Department – leading partnership with Wing Specialized Bank and in charge of Group Life & Satellite Office for nearly 2 years.
Yengkeang EAR currently is an AVP, Head of Group Business of Forte Life Assurance.
Her journey at Forte Life began as Sales Manager in 2019, where she successfully drove the group term life sales growth and enhanced customer experience to continue renewing the service from year to year. These practical experiences have equipped her with the skills and insights necessary to lead the group business to new heights. She holds a master’s degree in business management from the University of Management.
With over 11 years in the life insurance industry, and 8 years in corporate business, she has helped drive the strong foundation in corporate sales, solid distribution channels matched to local needs, including companies, NGOs, employees, and management through type of distribution channels, group term life as well as other sources of potential corporate partners.
Ms. Vichra Vou is the Head of Bancassurance Partnership at Forte Life Assurance.
Ms. Vichra Vou is a talented professional who has a rich background in the financial industry. She dedicated seven years of her career to Manulife in Bancassurance Partnership, where she excelled in developing sales teams and driving strong performance. During her tenure, she established successful partnerships with ANZ Royal Bank and ABA Bank, showcasing her ability to collaborate across various institutions. In 2020, she transitioned into the business sector, leveraging her expertise as a sales consultant, coach, and trainer to further expand her impact and contribute to the growth of business
Ms. Vichra is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the insurance industry. She currently serves as the Head of Bancassurance Partnership at Forte Assurance, overseeing the strategic development and management of partnerships with various banks to drive business growth. With a strong background in insurance and a proven track record of delivering results, Ms. Vichra is known for her ability to cultivate successful collaborations and create innovative insurance solutions. She is dedicated to enhancing customer experience and ensuring the long-term success of Forte Assurance in the competitive bancassurance landscape. She dedicated seven years of her career to Manulife in Bancassurance Partnership, where she excelled in developing sales teams and driving strong performance. During her tenure, she established successful partnerships with ANZ Royal Bank and ABA Bank, showcasing her ability to collaborate across various institutions. In 2016 she won the award star of excellence to Toronto Canada which is the highest award for the company. She transitioned into the business sector, leveraging her expertise as a sales consultant, coach, and trainer to further expand her impact and contribute to the growth of business in 2020.
